On January 22, Twitter user and PhD candidate at Central European University Milos Resimic posted an interactive visualization of the distribution and relationships of Twitter users tweeting anti-government and pro-government messages on the social media platform.
The visualization shows two major groups, with anti-government users labeled blue and pro-government users labeled red. The anti-government seems to be three times larger than the pro-government group, dispersed, and has, as Resimic pointed out, “a number of brokers.”
Twitterverse of anti-govt #1od5miliona protests in Serbia from Jan 19. Blue color is for anti-govt, red for pro-govt users. Nodes are sized based on information flow capacity (betweenness). Anti-govt network is dispersed, well connected, and has a number of brokers. pic.twitter.com/MUYDQXdFA6
