Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov met with with EU Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn on Tuesday, to brief Hahn on the implementation of reforms in Macedonia.
Dimitrov reiterated the government’s commitment to pave the way for renewal of the recommendation to start accession negotiations.
“Minister Dimitrov expressed his conviction that the country’s progress will enable opening of a discussion on the decision to start accession negotiations, as a step towards achieving Macedonia’s strategic goal of membership in the European Union,” a statement from the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
